Evangelist Dorothy L. King is an ordained licensed minister; who travels extensively sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. She is also a noted Christian Playwright and Producer of several Plays, including: her latest ones; "The Girl's Club", “Can Anybody Hear Me?” and “Gurl You Betta’ Listen to Yo Mama”. These entertaining productions are her unique way of bringing the Kingdom message of hope to the hopeless. Evangelist King’s life encompasses wife, mother, and grandmother and retired Foster Parent. Even though family always came first, Evangelist King still found the time to establish a successful career in Mass Media. For twenty five years you could hear her soulful voice on WBYE 1370AM as News Anchor, Disc Jockey, or Radio Talk Show Host. She also worked at WAYE 1220AM as their Public Service Director and the Producer and Host of their Radio Talk Show. Evangelist King graduated from Montevallo High School then went on to receive a Technical Degree from The Shelby County School of Technology. She later attended the Child Welfare Institute of Atlanta and became a Certified Workshop Facilitator for the Alabama Department of Human Resources. Evangelist King has been featured in the Birmingham News, The Birmingham Times, Alabama Alive Magazine and appeared on Good Morning Alabama. Her numerous awards include: Woman of the Year, Mother of the Year, and Outstanding Community Leader. She’s served on several boards such as; the Board of Directors with: Positive Image Outreach Ministries, Shelby Emergency Assistance and the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce. She and her family are the Founders of Stop The Madness Outreach Ministry. This ministry reaches into under-served communities to brings vital issues to the frontline and address them spiritually. They provide self- help workshops and sponsor community events. January 2016 Evangelist King released her first devotional book "Entering Into His Presence". She is currently working on a devotional sequel "Lord Can We Talk?" scheduled to be released December 2016. Evangelist King, in collaboration with her children, are working on their latest project an upcoming book “Touching the Soul” It is a very compelling and moving story of their incredible life’s journey. Evangelist King has three children and seven grandchildren. She is a current resident of Calera, Alabama and a member of Living Church Ministries, International.
